More than a dozen IB juniors and seniors volunteer as tutors each afternoon at the Fairhope/Point Clear Rotary Youth Club, working with club members K-12 on math, reading, science and more.
Camille McGriff has focused her 18-month CAS service project on the club in the classroom and on the water - with a yearlong sailing program in partnership with Fairhope Yacht Club. Learning about a spinnaker, how to tack or jib can’t match the smiles as these children hit the waters of Mobile Bay often for the first time in their lives. Camille is a leader on the FHS Sailing team, and works with other FYC volunteers in taking the kids out – weather and winds permitting.
